Privacy policy
There is no server to send them to.
Progress photos are personal, and plenty of them get taken in a bathroom mirror. SameShot was built without a photo backend at all. Your photos and projects stay on your device — there is nowhere for us to send them.
The architecture is the policy
We did not promise to protect your photos. We built somewhere they cannot go.
Most privacy claims are promises about data a company already holds. This one is structural. The app never uploads a photo or a project, so there is no copy of them to protect, subpoena, sell or lose.
No photo or project ever leaves your device. Face and pose detection run on the phone. The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to measure app usage, and there are no ad SDKs. Turn on App Lock and the app asks for a fingerprint, face or PIN before it opens.
Who this covers
This policy applies to the SameShot Android app (packagecom.appynox.morphly), this website at https://sameshot.appynox.com, and the free browser tools hosted on it. SameShot is made by Appynox. The iOS app is in development and is not on the App Store yet; when it ships, it will follow the same architecture described here.
What the app collects
No personal content. SameShot does not require an account. There is no sign-up, no login, no email or phone number collection, and no profile stored anywhere we can reach. The app contains no advertising SDKs. The one thing it does collect is anonymous usage data, through Google Analytics for Firebase, described in the next section.
We do not collect your name, email address, advertising ID, precise location, or contacts, and we do not sell data or use it for advertising.
Analytics
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how SameShot is used — things like which screens are opened, which features are tapped, and an app-instance and device identifier that lets Google count one phone as one phone. We use it to see which parts of the app people actually use and which parts are broken.
This data is sent to Google, encrypted in transit, and used only for analytics. It is not used for advertising, personalisation, or building a profile of you, and there is no account to attach it to.
It does not include your photos, your projects, your notes, or anything you photograph. Those never leave the device. Google's handling of the data it receives is covered by Google's privacy policy.
Photos, projects and settings
All photos, projects, notes, streaks, reminders and settings live in local storage on your device. We do not operate a photo cloud. We cannot see, access, back up or recover your photos. If the phone is lost, reset or uninstalled without a backup you made yourself, the projects go with it — that is the cost of there being no copy elsewhere, and it is stated plainly in theterms.
Exports, before-and-after images, time-lapse reels and shares are generated on the device. They leave the device only when you explicitly export or share, and only to the destination you choose (the camera roll, a messaging app, a drive you control, and so on). SameShot does not upload those files.
On-device machine learning
Face detection and pose detection run on the phone so auto capture and face mode can hold the frame steady. That is the whole of the on-device ML. Photos are not sent anywhere for inference, and the models are not used to estimate body fat, score a physique, diagnose skin, or identify you as a person.
Permissions the OS may ask for
Android (and iOS, when it ships) will prompt for access the app actually needs. SameShot never sees the underlying secret — the operating system grants or denies the capability.
- Camera. To take progress photos. Required for the core product.
- Photos / media (optional). Only if you import existing photos into a project through the system picker.
- Notifications (optional). Only if you turn on reminders.
- Biometrics or device PIN (optional). Only if you enable App Lock. Unlocking is handled by the operating system (fingerprint, face or PIN). SameShot never sees, stores or transmits biometric data — the OS only reports whether the unlock succeeded.
This website and the browser tools
sameshot.appynox.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, and does not fingerprint visitors. Closing the tab leaves nothing behind that we hold.
The free browser tools — the before and after maker,time-lapse calculator, cadence planner andalignment checker — run in your browser. Images are read locally (FileReader and canvas). They are not uploaded, stored or transmitted by us. Close the tab and they are gone.
If you email us
The one way we might hold personal information is if you choose to write tosameshot@appynox.com. We use that address only to reply. You can ask us to delete the thread at any time. We do not add people to a mailing list from the website, and the app never sends mail on your behalf.
Children
The app is rated Everyone on Google Play. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children — the analytics described above measure app usage, not people, and nothing identifies a user by name. Photos taken in the app stay on the device that took them. If you are a parent or guardian, you control that device.
Deleting your data
Uninstall the app, or clear its storage in system settings, and the projects on that device are gone. There is no photo or project of yours on a server for us to delete, because none was ever sent. Uninstalling also ends analytics collection from that device. Website tools keep nothing after you close the page. For an email you sent us, write and ask.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. This page is updated whenever the app's data handling changes — as it did when analytics were added. Continued use after an update means you have read the new version.
